Your First Visit Guide

Never had a professional massage before? Not sure what to expect? Here's an abbreviated guide to help you feel completely comfortable on your first visit. For a deeper dive into all things massage, download our free e-book below.

What to Expect, Step by Step

1

Book Your Appointment

Use our online booking system to choose your service, service specialist, location, and time. Same-day appointments are often available.

2

Arrive 5–10 Minutes Early

This gives you time to fill out your intake form, use the restroom, and get settled before your session begins.

3

Brief Consultation

Your service specialist will review your intake form and ask about any areas of concern, health conditions, or pressure preferences.

4

Your Session

You'll be professionally draped throughout. Only the area being worked on is exposed. Your comfort and privacy are our top priorities.

5

After Your Massage

Take a few minutes to rest. Drink plenty of water. You may feel some muscle tenderness for 24–48 hours — this is normal as the body adjusts to the massage work.

Tips for a Great First Experience

Avoid eating a large meal within 1 hour of your appointment
Stay hydrated — drink water after your session (avoid drinking a lot of water right before, as this may cause discomfort during your massage)
Arrive with clean skin — avoid heavy lotions or oils
Communicate openly with your service specialist about pressure
Turn your phone to silent before entering the treatment room
Let your service specialist know about any injuries or sensitive areas
Don't be embarrassed — service specialists are professionals
Breathe deeply and try to relax your muscles

First-Timer FAQs

What should I wear?

After talking with your therapist, you will undress to your comfort level and get on the massage table under the sheet.

Will it hurt?

Massage should not be painful. For Swedish massage, the pressure is gentle to moderate. For Deep Tissue, there may be some discomfort in tight areas, but it should feel like 'good pain.' Always communicate with your service specialist about pressure.

What if I'm pregnant?

We offer specialized Prenatal Massage using the BodyCushion Pro System for optimal comfort and safety. Please let us know you're pregnant when booking.

How often should I get a massage?

For general wellness, once a month is ideal (which is why our Wellness Club is so popular). For chronic pain or injury recovery, more frequent sessions may be recommended.

Do I need to tip?

Gratuity is not included in our prices and is always appreciated but never required. 15–20% is customary if you're happy with your service.

What if I have a health condition?

Please disclose any health conditions on your intake form. Our service specialists are trained to work safely with most conditions. Some conditions may require a doctor's note.

Can I talk during my massage?

That's entirely up to you. Some clients prefer to chat, others prefer silence. Your service specialist will follow your lead.

What's the difference between Swedish and Deep Tissue?

Swedish massage uses lighter pressure and longer strokes for relaxation. Deep Tissue uses firmer pressure to target deeper muscle layers for pain relief and tension release.

Not Sure What to Book?

Our most popular first-time service is the Swedish Massage — it's relaxing, therapeutic, and includes our signature Peppermint Foot Wraps at no extra charge.
